ATVS only is supporting Multi British Quad Champions Jason Wildman in 2019 Race Season

ATVs Only is supporting multi-British quad champ Jason Wildman in his 2019 onslaught on the increasingly popular 4x4 XC racing sector.

Wildman is building a Polaris Scrambler XP1000 supplied by JMK Quads of Northern Ireland, with assistance from ATVs Only and Polaris UK. The project will see the talented and amiable 44-year-old from Devizes contest the ATVs Only MCF British XC Championship, as well as a number of high-profile European races. The European campaign will include the 10h de Goncourt in North East France over the second weekend of June, where he’ll partner Jay Gröpl of Jay Parts. This will be followed by the challenging Pont de Vaux at the end of August, where he’ll ride as part of a three-man team with Jay Gröpl and Danny Gilligan.

A host of ATVs Only suppliers are involved in the project. The machine will be equipped with parts from ATV big-hitters such as Fasst Company, PEP Suspension, Beringer Braking, Jay Parts, Big Gun Exhaust, Terrache Tyres, 2 Tuff Racing Products, DWT Wheels and Demon Axles.

“I’ve got quite a lot to achieve in a short space of time, as the machine is in bits at the moment,” said Wildman. “I’m expecting the build to be completed in four to five weeks and, as I’m aiming to use it in anger at Goncourt, I’d better get cracking!”

Whilst the ‘Project Quad’ is in the workshop, Wildman will be riding as often as possible to work on his post-injury stamina and strengthen the leg he broke in five places five months ago. “I have been out of action since then and decided to have a stab at the opening round of the British XC Championship and intended to just ride around for a couple of laps. I ended up completing 11 laps and finished sixth overall in the Expert 4x4 class. I then ditched the crutches a couple of weeks before the second round at Brakehill Farm over Easter and ended up on the podium in second, which was amazing.”

This result was truly astonishing as, to the onlooker, Wildman could hardly walk. He dug deep and chased 4x4 specialist Steve Atkins home.

“I’d just like to give out a huge thanks to all the sponsors and supporters for making this exciting new project possible and also my personal sponsors Urchfont Vehicles Ltd, DB Waterworks Ltd, Usk and Wye Valley ATV, BRP Imports and Rip ‘n’ Roll,” concluded Wildman.

Next up for Wildman is the start of the Project X build and the third round of the ATVs Only British Quad XC Championship at Powys.
